A Set of 38 George II Antique English Silver Dinner Plates.

Each of shaped gadrooned form, engraved with a coat of arms within a rococo cartouche, numbered and with scratch weights. The arms are those of Lee (of Leigh) with a mullet for a third son, with Long quartering Atkinson in pretence.
A set of three condiment urns dated 1773 made for the same patron is known.
Provenance: - Phipps Boegner, one of the founders of US Steel, by descent to his granddaughter, Margaret Phipps Boegner (1910-2009), who established the nonprofit Old Westbury Gardens.
