An interesting small sycamore barrel, having a screw lid inscribed in contemporary ink capitals MT. NEALE JANY. 1818 on the base. Mount Neale is a mountain in British Columbia, Canada and one can only assume that the barrel was a container that was used when the mountain was climbed in 1818. It has a good colour and retains a patination.
English / Canadian Circa 1818.
