Late 19th Century Swedish Bentwood Birch Food or Trinket Box.

An oval birch Swedish bentwood food or trinket box, having a wood sprung fitted lid in the usual manner with a raised loop handle initialled W. The lid and body is decorated with faint punch work and hearts. The overlap join is held in place with woven cane and the base and lid have faint pencil inscriptions. The whole has a pleasing colour and patination.
