Early 19th Century Carved Welsh Sycamore Ladle

A most attractive sycamore ladle, having a hook handle and carved in the manner of a Welsh love spoon. At the top is a rectangular chip carved panel initialled J.F. This is above a raised heart with a flower head and symmetrical cross. The circular bowl is at an angle to the handle, with a delicate rim and carving marks to the underside. The whole has an excellent pale honey colour and patination.
