A beautifully 19th Century Carved Cherry Wood Gavel, having a shaped handle that is carved with a bunch of grapes, below an integral suspension hole with further carved decoration to the base of the handle. The octagonal head has a stepped and B moulded edge with some minute chipping and a raised and rounded centre to each side.   The whole has an excellent colour and patination.
