A most unusual well carved birch love spoon, having a bowed hook handle that conforms with the back of the spoon and is deeply carved with a scrolling design. The interior is well carved with a profile portrait of a young lady wearing a floral head piece, with the interior edge having a carved banded border, all from a single piece of birch wood. The whole has a rich dark shaded colour and good patination. It has minor restoration to the lip, almost invisible.
