19th Century Brass and Steel Bar Grate Toaster.

An interesting revolving bar grate sprung toaster with a brass handle, that would either clip on the bar grate or an iron trivet in front of a down hearth or bar grate ope fire. Similar examples are illustrated in The History of Cooking Through the Ages by Robert Deeley and Philip Drury on page 48.
