An unusual early 19th century rosewood silk thread dispenser, having a cylindrical and rounded top with a small central hole for the thread to pass through, which is screwed to the base, that has a multi reeded design and is raised on a short stem with a spreading angled and chip carved foot. The whole has an excellent rich colour and patination.
