A good quality late Victorian solid oak mantelpiece watch stand, made in the form of a castle with twin octagonal towers either side of an arched doorway, with a Gothic window and the circular aperture for the watch. The whole is seated on an oak rectangular base, with cut out steps leading to the closed front door. It is made of well grained Welsh oak and has an excellent colour, grain and patination.
