An extremely good example of an early 19th century yew wood puzzle ball, carved with concentric circles on all six sides with the centre hiding a separate cone shaped circular box for snuff or pills. These were often made in lignum vitae or ebony, and yew wood ones are much sought after owing to their grain and colour. The whole is in excellent condition and has a very good patination.
