A lovely early 19th century boxwood spice pot and cover, having a stepped and shaped lid with an acorn finial, that is fitted to the urn shaped base, which has moulded turnings and is raised on a concave stem, seated on a rounded, stepped and finely turned vertical foot. The underside has an old collector's label 'spice pot 0380'. This is one of the finest 19th century spice pots we have handled for a while, the colour, condition and patination needs to be seen to be believed. It is a serious piece of treen for an enthusiastic collector.
