An excellent sycamore pedestal salt of the Georgian Period that has good proportions. The bowl, with slightly angled vertical sides, has a protruding band above a substantial concave stem, which is seated on a circular base with a vertical foot. The underside has finely turned pole lathe rings. The whole has a lovely honey colour, a most pleasing design and a good patination.
