An interesting Dutch blond ash oval biscuit barrel, having a wavy top edge with a pierced heart to each end, and a fitted lid with a small brass knob handle. The staved body, bound with two sections of ebonised willow, enhances the overall appearance. The whole is raised on a wavy foot, conforming with the top edge. The interior has original paintwork and has a false bottom, containing beads of some description and when shaken it makes a rattling sound. It has a pale colour and retains a patination.
