A most attractive boxwood cotton or thread dispenser in the form of a barrel, having an end that unscrews to reveal a wooden spool, which is attached to a small turned knob to release the thread. There is a small metal cutter above a protruding nozzle through which the thread is dispensed. The whole is seated on a shaped and rounded platform base, and has an excellent honey colour and good patination.
