An interesting small lignum vitae presentation bowling ball, having a top and base both with engine turned decoration and incised circles. It has two bone inset plaques with the initials M.C.B.A. and S.A.B.A on the top with a further plaque dated 1926 on the base, and is also engraved with the maker Taylor-Rolph London. This firm produced handcrafted wooden bowls and accessories throughout the early to mid 20th century. The whole has an excellent grain, bolour and patination.
