A rare small walnut 19th century pole lathe turned quails egg cup, having a top with a rounded overlapping rim, above a slightly tapered body in the form of a garden urn. The whole, raised on a concave support, is seated on a stepped, rounded and vertical foot. It has an excellent colour and patination.
