An early 19th century circular Welsh ash broth bowl, of waisted form and raised on a shallow inset foot. Ash has a lovely grain, as in this example, and it is interesting to note that the interior is stained to an orange colour, from hot broth that has discoloured the wood. The whole has an excellent colour, grain and patination.

Welsh Circa 1820
