A small circular free standing oak cheese press, which were weighted down with a heavy stone or smaller stones in a wooden box. Cheese presses of differing sizes and designs were used to expand the whey with pressure and allow the curds to consolidate. The whole has a pleasing colour, grain and retains a patination.
