A finely carved table top solid mahogany snuff box in the form of a book, made by digging out the core of a block of wood to leave a thin outer shell, and then fitting a sliding lid. It has extensive decoration and chip carving on all three sides, including the spine. The top has a full sized grooved sliding lid to obtain the contents.
