19th Century Fruitwood Barrel.
A delightful small well turned fruitwood barrel in the manner of a costrel, but having a removable fitted end. The body has simulated iron bands and a raised stopper mount. There is a small shrinkage crack to one side. The whole has an excellent rich colour and patination.
