A well proportioned turned beech tobacco jar, having a loose lid with an oval finial above a conical swept stepped and rounded edge. This is seated on the circular container with two protruding bands with a concave and rounded base. The whole has a pleasing rich colour and patination, with a strong smell of tobacco.
