A walnut apothecary's pestle and mortar, having a flat horizontal rim with a pouring lip, that is above a deep bowl raised on a small rounded foot. The pestle is of traditional form, having a rounded base, conforming with the mortar, with incised lines and a knop to the top. The whole has a good pale colour and retains a patination.
