A fine quality Georgian mahogany rectangular table top writing box, having a hinged lid with a lock and key that opens to reveal two open and one lidded compartment, including a pen dip, wafer slide and glass ink pot of a later date, circa 1850. The brass screw top is inscribed Parkins and Gotts, London and is centred with a crown. The base, with a full sized mahogany lined drawer, is held secure with an interior brass locking pin. The whole retains a patination.
