A three section late Victorian beech mortar grater, having a mortar with a flat knob handle and a tapered body. The grater fits snugly into the centre section with a matching grater at the base. The bottom section, with a twin lug fitting, opens to gain access to the grated spices. The whole, with incised line decoration, is of a pleasing mellow colour and patination.
