A fine 18th century boxwood spice shaker, having an acorn finial above a ball, which unscrews to reveal a small container for spice or nutmeg. This in turn also unscrews to reveal four small holes leading to the interior. The body, of globular form, is raised on a circular base, which has been replaced. The whole has an excellent colour and patination.
