A good quality and well used 18th century Georgian tobacco cutter, having a brass platform on a mahogany base. The hinged steel cutter, riveted to a swivelling end vertical support, has a mahogany handle, and would have been on a tobacconist's counter for cutting up pipe tobacco, or for use in a snuff grinder.
