A chunky early 19th century elm top stool, having a chamfered under edge. This was often done on quality items to give the appearance of a thinner top, making it more aesthetically pleasing, while retaining its strength. This stool is raised on four splayed well turned ash legs. The whole has a lovely rich colour and excellent patination.
