A late 18th century or early 19th century three screw compartment beech spice tower, having original labels for mace, nutmeg and all spice. Note the smoky stained and discoloured worn patination, confirming it was in a busy kitchen, so it is amazing that the labels had not fallen off. It has small chipping to the central beading, and the top appears to have been painted originally a cream colour, which has partially worn away. It is an item of real substance and character.
