A lovely early 19th century Welsh horizontal wall mounted oak candle box, having a chamfered lid with twin brass hinges, that is below a raised shaped and chamfered backboard, with twin holes for hanging on a wall. The whole, of nailed construction, has protruding beads and an angled plinth of well grained Welsh oak. The whole has a good rich colour and excellent patination.
