19th Century Rosewood Table Clamp.
A good quality solid rosewood adjustable table clamp, part of a swift, that was used to wind the skeined yarn into a ball.
The arms of the swift are missing leaving just the clamp part with the bowl at the top for the ball of yarn. The whole has a lovely rich colour and patination.
English Circa 1840.
