Classically elegant Georgian mahogany Stick Barometer; the 'break-arch' pediment over engraved silvered brass register plate signed by the maker and bearing manually operated vernier slide.

The trunk, of well-patinated ‘fiddle-pattern Cuban mahogany, edge-moulded and with original cistern tube terminating behind hemispherical cover.

A member of the Guild of Joiners, Tangate worked from various premises in the Fleet St. area of London from 1766-1808.
