A Very Attractive And Rarely Found Pair Of Regency
Period Giltwood And Gesso Overmantle Mirrors Having
Roman Scenes To Top Panel Over Triple Split Bevelled
Mirror Plates Flanked By Elegant Carved Columns

(A good example in terms of design for overmantel mirrors
incorporating Apollo on his chariot, which is something regularly
depicted in these types of mirrors throughout the 19th century.
These particular mirrors are Regency which is when they first
began to use this design with the versions made throughout
the following 80 years of so generally, but not always, of lesser
quality and elegance. It is also incredibly rare to find a pair of these
still together.

You will often come across pairs that have been put
together but that have variations in sizes, or slight design differences
but these are identical in all ways. They would be absolutely perfect in
the right setting and maybe they offer a solution that not many other
items available out there do? They are both in good condition with
the usual various pieces of historic damage in terms of scuffs, scrapes,
chips, breaks etc but nothing at all of concern or that you would not
expect to find on items that are 200 or so years old and they are most
certainly ready to place straight into position.)
