Regency Mahogany Occasional Lamp Table.

A very good quality, Regency period, early 19th century Georgian mahogany occasional lamp table. Having well figured lift-up top, with attractive inlaid decoration, over one false drawer and two drawers to frieze retaining original brass handles. Raised on four elegant, unusual swept legs, united by under tier, with original brass castors.

This elegant little lamp table, or work table is of typical regency design and exceptionally good quality. It is constructed from very well figured, rich mahogany timber which has a lovely decorative effect, accentuated by the subtle inlaid decoration.

The one false drawer is obviously to accomodate enough space for their to be a compartment available underneath the lift up top. This interior compartment and the drawers are all lined with cedar wood, another sign of exceptional quality. The overall quality and no expense spared attitude to the original construction is further evidenced by the beautiful original brasswear which the table boasts, something which would have cost a princely sum in the early 19th century.

In terms of functionality the table is a great little size. Perfect in a hallway, or alongside a bed perhaps, or alternatively just as a little occasional table in the living room, study, or office. Certainly it is as fit for original function as the day which it was made.

As with all items which we offer for sale this georgian table has been attended to in our workshops by our trained, traditional antique furniture restorers. They have given it the once over, ensuring that it is all in working and presentable order, finishing off with a natural wax polish to ensure it is in a condition to be placed immediately into the home.
