(Collectors cabinets were popular throughout the
18th and 19th centuries and were used to house all
manner of collections including legs, shells, moths and
many other things. This example is constructed from high
grade mahogany and rosewood and remains with its original
stand which is relatively unusual. The turning on the legs is
exceptional and the piece stands with real elegance.)
