A Regency mahogany drum table of a good original colour and condition. Attractive model with veneered top, cross-banding to the edge of the top and carcase fronts and 3 splay sabre leg base with castors finely cast with acanthus leaves and still with an old gilt finish. We had the knobs cast from an old one and coloured to match the old gilt.
Provenance: Labelled Honorable E Ponsonby ~ we found this when we unscrewed the top from the bottom. Edwin, Charles, William Ponsonby 1851-1939. It also has 2 labels GWR Lechlade so probably originally belonged to his mother Lady Maria E Ponsonby who lived in Lechlade, Gloucestershire.
