A superb quality 19th century Regency period mahogany chaise longue of rare design.

Having elegant carved decoration which includes eagles head to back and scrolling end.

Raised on unusual bulbous legs with carved anthemion decoration and replaced brass castors.

This 19th century regency mahogany chaise Longue is indeed a sofa of most unusual design. Typical in size for the period it is constructed from high quality mahogany timber.

It does however have a very distinctive and detailed carved eagle type head to the back, along with some rather unusual legs, which makes us wonder where the design originated.

It is certainly an incredibly elegant, practical sofa however and has been recently reupholstered meaning the fabric and upholstery are in excellent condition.

Perfect for the end of the bed, anywhere else in a bedroom, a large entrance hallway, or just about any other room of the house, this could be a practical and functional focal point around the home.

Circa 1820.

Height - 34in.
Width - 72in.
Depth - 22in.
