A Superb Quality Late Regency Period Mahogany 19th
Century Writing Table Having Tooled Old Leather Inset
To Crossbanded Top Over Two Frieze Drawers Retaining
Original Turned Wooden Knobs Raised On Elegant
Turned And Reeded Legs With Original Brass Castors

(This writing table is a brilliant, useful, functional size
and perfect for that home office. It retains an old leather
top which is in decent condition, but of course has plenty
of evidence of wear and tear from being well used
historically. The overall quality is excellent and the
two drawers, which come with a working lock and key
to each drawer still operate perfectly. It is of course
raised on extremely elegant turned and reeded legs
which still retain their original brass castors. This item
could well have been produced in the workshops of Gillows
although as it is not stamped, or signed and we have no
real provenance we are not willing to definitively
attribute it to their workshops.)
