A Superb Quality Regency Period Sabicu, Maple, Birch And Brass
Lamp Table Having Superbly Figured Octagonal Top With
Chess Board Inlaid And Banded Decoration Raised On
Faceted Column And Elegant Scrolling Tripod Legs
(A wonderful quality table with various different areas of
brass mounted decoration. The top is inlaid with a chess board
and boasts well figured sabicu veneers. The overall design and
quality throughout this table certainly suggests it was made in
a top London workshop of the time and the raw materials alone
would of cost no small sum of money in the early 19th century,
before even taking into account the skills and time of the
craftsman involved. Pop this table in the corner with a lamp or
vase of flowers on and bring it out for a quick game of chess as
and when the mood takes.)
