(This is a fine quality Regency period tea caddy constructed from superbly figured burr elm veneers. The overall condition is very good, it retains original brass handles and feet and comes with fully functioning lock and key. Tea was a most precious & valuable commodity in the 19th century and tea caddies were used both to preserve the expensive tea leaves and also lock them away from the wandering hands of any employees.)
