A rare Italian ambassadorial silver dessert service (.800 standard) comprising 12 dessert knives (with stainless steel blades ) and 12 dessert forks made in Alessandria Italy c1930 by Siap (Societa Industriale Argenterie Posaterie )-active 1919 - 1936.
This was made as a special order for an Ambassador as each piece bears the full coat of arms of Italy.
This would have been specially ordered by the Italian government to be used in an official capacity by one of its ambassador’s during the Mussolini era of the 1930s as the pieces bear the coat of arms that were used between 1929-1944.
The service is in good condition and a fine weight. An opportunity to acquire some interesting Italian history.(24 pieces total).
