A very attractive mid 19th century mahogany pair of Whatnots, or Etagere's, each with three well figured shaped shelves raised on elegant turned upright supports.

An extremely useful size and elegant design this pair of whatnots are a very good example of their type - They are well constructed with elegant turnings and it is extremely rare to find a true pair still together.

They would make perfect occasional type tables alongside chairs and settees and could also of course be used in many other places.

Circa 1860.
