Large Chinese Market Gold and Enamel Cylinder.

A large late 18th Century French centre seconds cylinder with date calender in a gold and enamel case.  Slim full plate gilt movement, resting barrel under an engraved bridge.  Large finely pierced and engraved bridge cock with steel coqueret, plain three arm gilt balance with blue steel spiral hairspring.  Unusual regulator under a large crescent shaped polished steel bridge, index on the plate.  Lateral steel stop lever under the front bezel.  Wound though the convex white enamel centre seconds dial.  Chapter for the days of the month within the hour markings, both of Arabic numerals.  Fine gold beetle and poker hands, the slender centre seconds hand situated between the hour and minute hands, serpentine calendar hand.  Unusually large slim gold case decorated with a polychrome and gilt geometric pattern over a translucent dark blue ground.  Octagonal pendant and bow.
