Rare highly figured ormolu mounted occasional table.
The early 19th century High Regency period rustic mahogany circular lamp table is attributed to Royal Cabinet Makers Banting, France & Co, 27 St James' Street London (1813-1840).
The figured veneered top with a reeded and ormolu mounted beading edge above a shallow frieze is raised on three solid uprights. The finely tapered, turned and carved uprights stand on a rustic mahogany concave veneered plinth, adorned with crisply cast ormolu mounts of fleur de lys, acanthus décor on scrolls above a gadrooned moulded edge.
The concave plinth surmounted on a triform platform above solid gilt brass ormolu feet. The scrolled, reeded feet are typical of the firm Banting, France & Co.
The table is of the highest exhibition quality and is quite possibly a table that might have been supplied to the Duke of Sussex in 1813-1820 for Kensington Palace.
