A rare pale green antique Ushak carpet, using delicate pinks and orange tones for the flowers and stars, combined with a light varying green border colour. From the late 19th century, this circa 1890 Turkish carpet is why these decorative carpets from Anatolia are so desirable and collectable. Ushaks were woven in Western Anatolia which was one of the largest rug production areas since the Ottoman Empire. Their designs tend to be more open than Persian rugs and use soft natural dyes. The faded green border colour works so well with the soft reds and muted golden tones.
Please Request a Home Visit to see this beautiful Ushak carpet at home, we love to travel, having visited clients and interior designers all over the UK for the last 30 years.
