An extremely rare mid 18th century George II period Walnut Tea Table, having well figured foldover top enclosing divisions to well.

Raised on elegant turned legs with carved lappet detail to top and original pad feet.

A slightly unusual, but most charming take on the stereotypical George II Period Tea Table, which we have never come across before.

Often you find these tables allow access to two different folding surfaces, one of which is baized for playing cards at, and the other solid wood for serving tea at.

This table however has been designed clearly specifically for serving tea at with an unusual moulded lip around the outside when opened.

Under the folding top there are some lovely quality divided sections to the deep well which is almost certainly designed for keeping the silver required for serving tea in.

The table is also constructed from excellent quality walnut which retains a warm and rich colour and is raised on incredibly elegant turned legs.

A charming and unusual piece which could be used in a variety of different environments.
