Oriental Chinese/English, circa 1780

Unique Decorated Chinese Wallpaper Cabinet on Original Painted Stand. Wallpaper being typical of the Chinese Wallpaper Designs Decorated in the Canton Area in the Late 18th Century.

The Paper Predominately made for the European Market sometimes is used for the covering of small items such as Tea Caddies and Larger Coffers etc. Extremely rare to find larger articles.

Literature: Unknown to our company during sixty years of fine art dealing to have found original furniture covered in Chinese Paper Wall - whilst having seen boxes and caddies.

Condition report

"Good country house state " to front and interior , the sides still being original have undulations to be expected being laid upon a wooden carcass and the both ( paper - wood ) contracting and shrinking at their own different pace .
