A pretty portrait of a Lady, in enamel on copper

Set in a gold frame 

She wears a low cut pink lined blue dress with pearls on the sleeves and at her corsage, further pearls and a posy of flowers entwined in her upswept brown hair. 

Rouquet was a Swiss enameller who travelled to London, circa 1722 where he was close to Hogarth. In 1752 he moved to Paris and in the following year he exhibited five enamel at the Academie and in 1754 he was given an apartment at the Louvre.
