A portrait miniature of an unknown Gentleman, watercolour on ivory

Signed in gold letters on the obverse

Wearing a blue coat, white waistcoat and frilled cravat 
Set in gold frame, the reverse with locks of hair tied with split see pearls on opalescent glass 

Jagger worked almost exclusively in Bath. He may have been a pupil of T. Hargreaves in Liverpool. He was considered to be a good artist who drew with accuracy and the faces of his sitter's are usually finely executed
