This is a fantastic series with split vegetables and fruits depicted in rich colour and detail beautifully rendered in the trompe l'oeil tradition.
Mark: Printed in green- Societa Ceramica Italy with an eagle above and banner K-B for retailer- Binder & Coabove and Levano below and a rectangiular box with Made in Italy within and 10-53 (for date of manufacture) as well a hand and brush pointing to FORNASETTI. MILANO/MADE IN ITALY.
The plates were produced in the 1950s/60s. This is from 1953 and made on Italian pottery - the earliest period of this design.
