Period Faux Marble Walnut Pedestal
Italian, Circa 1760
An Italian, rare and highly decorative 18th Century walnut marbleised pedestal column of robust proportions.
This column has to be in direct competition with its English counterpart very much in the style and period of William Kent (1685-1748). Both efforts derived from the Classical styles of Greek and Roman architecture.
Provenance: Private Collection UK.
Condition: In good country house state, retaining the original decoration with very minor abrasions commensurate with natural wear and tear as to be expected with age.
